Koko Head hike, Oct 2008:
Koko Head, a volcanic mountain on East Oahu, has an old railroad track that you can now use to hike to the top of the hill.
The ascent is about 1000 vertical feet, and hurts almost as much as going down that many steps. But the view is nice...
Sarah, Jeff and I hiked it one lazy Sunday afternoon.

The hills looms before us.

Tracks heading up...aka, stairs

In a cruel yet obvious twist, it gets steeper as you get closer to the end (that's Jeff waiting up ahead, being smarmy)

Winch machinerary used long ago to haul the carts up, now rusted out

Ridge line of the other end of the hill, looking over Sandy's
